Description
Vogliboz 0.3 Tablet contains Voglibose (0.3 mg), an anti-diabetic medicine used to control blood sugar levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It is particularly effective in managing postprandial hyperglycemia (high blood sugar after meals). Voglibose works by inhibiting intestinal enzymes (alpha-glucosidase) that break down complex carbohydrates into glucose, thereby slowing glucose absorption and preventing sudden spikes in blood sugar levels.
Uses:
Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, especially when diet and exercise alone are insufficient
Control of post-meal blood sugar levels
Prevention of complications of diabetes such as kidney damage, nerve disorders, and eye problems
May be used alone or in combination with other anti-diabetic medicines like Metformin or Insulin (as prescribed)
Side Effects:
Vogliboz 0.3 Tablet is generally well-tolerated but may cause:
Common: Abdominal bloating, flatulence, mild diarrhea, or stomach discomfort (due to fermentation of undigested carbohydrates)
Occasional: Nausea, dizziness, mild skin rash
Rare: Severe intestinal discomfort or allergic reactions
Precautions:
Take the tablet just before meals for maximum effect. Avoid alcohol and high-sugar foods. Not recommended for patients with severe kidney or liver disease, or intestinal disorders like ulcerative colitis or bowel obstruction. Regular blood sugar monitoring is advised.
