Description
Altiva 180 Tablet contains Fexofenadine Hydrochloride (180 mg), which is a non-drowsy antihistamine medicine. It is commonly used to relieve allergy symptoms by blocking histamine, a natural substance responsible for causing allergic reactions.
Uses:
Provides relief from seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) symptoms such as sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, itchy or watery eyes, and throat irritation.
Helps manage chronic idiopathic urticaria (long-lasting hives), reducing redness, itching, and swelling of the skin.
Useful in controlling allergy flare-ups caused by dust, pollen, pets, or environmental factors.
Sometimes prescribed in skin allergies to reduce itching and rash.
Side Effects:
Altiva 180 is generally well tolerated, but some people may experience mild to moderate side effects.
Common: Headache, dizziness, drowsiness (though less than other antihistamines), nausea, dry mouth, and fatigue.
Less common: Stomach upset, indigestion, back pain, cough, or flu-like symptoms.
Rare but serious: Allergic reaction to the medicine itself, with difficulty breathing, swelling of face/lips, or severe rash (seek immediate medical help).
It should be taken as prescribed, usually once daily with water. Alcohol should be avoided, and people with kidney, liver, or heart conditions should use it only under medical advice.
