Uses:
Okacet, manufactured by Cipla, contains cetirizine hydrochloride, an antihistamine commonly used to relieve allergy symptoms. It is effective for conditions like allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny or itchy nose), watery eyes, hay fever, and skin allergies like urticaria (hives). Okacet works by blocking histamine, a chemical in the body responsible for allergic symptoms. It provides fast and long-lasting relief, typically starting within an hour of intake and lasting up to 24 hours. It is often taken once daily, with or without food.

Side Effects:
While generally well-tolerated, Okacet may cause some mild side effects. The most common ones include drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, and fatigue. Some people may also experience headaches or stomach discomfort. Though rare, allergic reactions like rashes, itching, swelling (especially of the face or throat), or difficulty breathing may occur. These require immediate medical attention. Long-term or excessive use should be avoided unless prescribed, as it may lead to tolerance or mask underlying conditions.
