Description

Rabesec DSR (by Cipla) is a combination medicine containing Rabeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a prokinetic). It is commonly used to treat acid reflux, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, and indigestion.

Uses:

• Reduces stomach acid production, relieving symptoms like acidity, heartburn, and sour burps.

• Helps manage gastric and duodenal ulcers.

• Controls nausea, vomiting, and improves stomach motility, especially in conditions like delayed gastric emptying.

• Treats symptoms associated with non-ulcer dyspepsia.

Side Effects:

• Common: Headache, dizziness, dry mouth, diarrhea, constipation, and flatulence.

• Less Common: Stomach pain, nausea, or sleep disturbances.

• Serious (rare): Irregular heartbeat, muscle cramps, or signs of magnesium deficiency like tremors.

• Long-term use may lower vitamin B12 or magnesium levels.

• Domperidone may slightly increase the risk of heart rhythm disturbances, especially in elderly patients or those with pre-existing heart conditions.

Precautions:

• Should be taken before meals, usually once daily.

• Avoid if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems, unless prescribed.

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice
