Augulab 625 Tablet: Uses and Side Effects (200 words)
Augulab 625 is a combination antibiotic containing Amoxicillin (500 mg) and Clavulanic Acid (125 mg). It is commonly prescribed to treat various bacterial infections, including those of the respiratory tract (sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia), urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, dental infections, and ear infections. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that kills bacteria, while Clavulanic Acid prevents bacterial resistance by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes.
This tablet should be taken as directed by a doctor, preferably with food to reduce stomach discomfort. It’s important to complete the full course even if symptoms improve early, to avoid reinfection or resistance.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and skin rash. Some people may experience headache, dizziness, or oral thrush due to changes in normal bacterial flora. Rare but serious side effects can include allergic reactions like swelling, difficulty breathing, or severe skin rashes (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome). Liver enzyme changes or jaundice may occur with prolonged use.
