Description

OFLOPHARMA OZ Tablet is a combination antibiotic containing Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. It is prescribed to treat a variety of bacterial and protozoal infections, particularly those involving the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, respiratory tract, and reproductive system. This medicine works by stopping the growth of bacteria (Ofloxacin) and killing protozoa or anaerobic bacteria (Ornidazole).

Uses:

• Treatment of diarrhea and dysentery caused by mixed bacterial and protozoal infections

• Management of gastrointestinal infections such as gastroenteritis

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by susceptible organisms

• Respiratory tract infections, including bronchitis and pneumonia

• Gynecological infections like pelvic inflammatory disease

• Post-surgical infections caused by bacteria or protozoa

Side Effects:
Most side effects are mild and temporary, but medical attention may be needed if severe.

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, metallic taste, headache, dizziness

• Less common: Fatigue, loss of appetite, skin rash, itching

• Serious (rare): Allergic reactions, tendon pain/swelling, severe diarrhea with blood, seizures, numbness or tingling in limbs, changes in mood or confusion

It should be taken exactly as prescribed, usually after meals, and avoided in patients with allergy to quinolones or nitroimidazoles, severe liver or kidney problems, or during pregnancy unless advised by a doctor.
