Auglab DS Syrup is an antibiotic medication commonly prescribed to children for the treatment of bacterial infections. It contains Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid, which together combat a wide range of bacteria. This combination works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell walls and preventing resistance caused by beta-lactamase enzymes. It is typically used for infections of the respiratory tract (such as tonsillitis, sinusitis, and bronchitis), ear (otitis media), urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. Doctors may also prescribe it for dental infections and some gastrointestinal infections caused by sensitive organisms.

Side Effects:
While effective, Auglab DS Syrup can cause some side effects. Common ones include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort, which usually subside as the body adjusts. Some children may also develop skin rashes or allergic reactions such as itching or swelling. In rare cases, serious side effects like liver dysfunction, jaundice, or severe diarrhea (due to Clostridium difficile) may occur. If any unusual or severe symptoms develop, medical attention should be sought promptly. Long-term or repeated use can lead to secondary infections such as oral thrush.
