Description
Azax 200 Suspension contains Azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections like bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, and sinusitis, as well as ear infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections. In children, it is especially useful for tonsillitis, otitis media (middle ear infection), and bacterial throat infections.
The medication works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria, thereby reducing infection. It is not effective against viral infections such as the common cold or flu.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. These are usually mild and temporary. Some children may experience taste changes, dizziness, or headache. Rarely, serious side effects like allergic reactions, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), or irregular heartbeat may occur and require immediate medical attention.
