Description

Betasalic Ointment (20gm) is a topical medication containing Betamethasone (a corticosteroid) and Salicylic Acid (a keratolytic agent). It is used to treat various skin conditions with inflammation, redness, scaling, and thickening.

• Betamethasone reduces inflammation, itching, and redness by suppressing the immune response in the skin.

• Salicylic Acid helps remove dead skin cells, softens thickened skin, and enhances the penetration of Betamethasone for better results.

Uses:

• Treatment of psoriasis to reduce scaling, itching, and thick skin patches

• Management of eczema, dermatitis, and other inflammatory skin conditions

• Relief from itching, redness, and swelling in chronic skin diseases

• Softening and removal of rough, scaly skin in hyperkeratotic conditions

• Adjunct therapy for certain fungal or bacterial skin infections (with doctor’s guidance)

Side Effects:
Betasalic Ointment is generally safe for short-term use but may cause:

• Common: Burning, stinging, irritation, or dryness at the application site

• Occasional: Skin thinning, stretch marks, discoloration, or acne-like eruptions (with prolonged use)

• Rare: Allergic reactions, excessive skin peeling, or systemic steroid effects if overused on large areas
