Description

Cefitake 100 Syrup contains Cefixime 100 mg/5ml, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby killing the bacteria and preventing their further growth. It is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Uses:

• Treatment of respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis

• Management of ear, nose, and throat infections including sinusitis and otitis media

• Treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by susceptible bacteria

• Management of typhoid fever and certain gastrointestinal infections like bacterial diarrhea and dysentery

• Effective in skin and soft tissue infections when caused by sensitive organisms

Side Effects:
Cefitake 100 Syrup is generally safe when used as prescribed but may cause:

• Common: Stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, flatulence

• Occasional: Headache, dizziness, mild skin rash, fatigue

• Rare but serious: Severe allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling of face/lips), difficulty breathing, jaundice, or persistent diarrhea (sign of Clostridium difficile infection)

Precautions:
Should be taken under medical supervision. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve. Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver impairment. Avoid self-medication to prevent antibiotic resistance.
