Description
Ceroxitum CV Tablet is a combination antibiotic medication that typically contains Cefuroxime (a cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic Acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). It is used to treat bacterial infections by stopping the growth of bacteria and preventing them from becoming resistant to the antibiotic.
Uses
Treatment of respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis
Management of ear, nose, and throat infections (otitis media, tonsillitis, pharyngitis)
Treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Skin and soft tissue infections, including cellulitis and wound infections
Bone and joint infections
Certain dental infections caused by susceptible bacteria
Side Effects
While generally well tolerated, Ceroxitum CV Tablet may cause:
Common: Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, bloating
Occasional: Headache, dizziness, tiredness, mild skin rash
Rare but serious: Severe diarrhea (possible Clostridium difficile infection), allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, breathing difficulty), liver enzyme changes, jaundice
Precautions
Complete the full prescribed course to prevent antibiotic resistance.
Take with food to reduce stomach upset.
Consult a doctor if severe diarrhea or allergic reactions occur.
Not effective for viral infections like cold or flu.
