Description

CINDAMICIN-300 Capsule contains Clindamycin (300 mg), an antibiotic belonging to the lincosamide class. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth and spread of infection-causing bacteria. It is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria.

Uses:

• Treatment of serious bacterial infections of the skin, soft tissues, bones, and joints

• Management of respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis

• Treatment of dental infections and prevention of post-surgical infections

• Management of pelvic inflammatory disease and other gynecological infections

• Used in certain cases for toxoplasmosis or malaria (in combination therapy)

• Alternative for patients allergic to penicillin in specific bacterial infections

Side Effects:

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, loss of appetite

• Mild: Rash, itching, headache, metallic taste

• Serious but rare: Severe diarrhea due to Clostridioides difficile infection (pseudomembranous colitis), jaundice, severe allergic reactions (swelling of face/lips, difficulty breathing)

• Long-term/high-dose use risks: Liver function changes, altered blood counts

It should be taken exactly as prescribed, with or without food, and full course completion is essential to prevent antibiotic resistance. Patients with liver, kidney, or gastrointestinal disorders should use it cautiously.
