Uses:
CIPRODAC 500mg tablet contains ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed for urinary tract infections (UTIs), respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia), skin and soft tissue infections, gastrointestinal infections (including typhoid and traveler’s diarrhea), and certain sexually transmitted infections. It works by stopping the growth and multiplication of bacteria, making it effective in eliminating the infection. CIPRODAC is also sometimes used in cases of anthrax exposure or complicated intra-abdominal infections, depending on the clinical need.

Side Effects:
While effective, CIPRODAC 500mg can cause some side effects. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, and abdominal discomfort. Some people may experience insomnia or a metallic taste in the mouth. Serious but less common side effects include tendon rupture, nerve damage (tingling or numbness), severe allergic reactions, or mood changes. Prolonged use may also lead to fungal or resistant bacterial infections. It is advised to avoid taking it with dairy products or calcium-fortified drinks, as they can interfere with its absorption.
