Description
Cipla Clearwax is an ear drop formulation commonly used to soften and remove hardened earwax (cerumen). It contains a mixture of ingredients like paradichlorobenzene, benzocaine, chlorbutol, and turpentine oil that work together to dissolve wax and ease discomfort associated with wax build-up.
Uses:
Clearwax is primarily used to soften and loosen earwax, making it easier to remove. It is helpful in treating symptoms like ear fullness, muffled hearing, itching, or discomfort caused by impacted wax. It may also be used before ear syringing or cleaning procedures to make the process easier and more effective.
How to use:
Typically, 2β3 drops are instilled into the affected ear while lying down with the ear facing up. It is left for a few minutes to allow the solution to work. This may be repeated once or twice daily for a few days as advised by a healthcare provider.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include temporary irritation, itching, or mild burning in the ear. Rarely, allergic reactions, dizziness, or rash may occur. If severe discomfort, discharge, or worsening symptoms develop, use should be stopped immediately and medical advice should be sought. Clearwax should not be used if the eardrum is perforated or in ear infections unless prescribed.
