Description
DREX-T Syrup is generally a combination cough syrup containing Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Triprolidine Hydrochloride, and sometimes Phenylephrine Hydrochloride. It is used to relieve symptoms of cough, cold, allergies, and mild respiratory tract irritation.
Uses:
Relief from dry, irritating, or allergic cough
Reduces runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes caused by allergies or common cold
Eases throat irritation and mild chest discomfort due to cough
Helps in nasal congestion relief (if phenylephrine is included)
Provides symptomatic comfort during seasonal flu or allergic rhinitis
Side Effects:
Most side effects are mild and temporary when taken as directed. Common ones include:
Drowsiness or dizziness (due to antihistamine content)
Dry mouth, nose, or throat
Mild stomach upset or nausea
Headache
Restlessness or trouble sleeping (especially in children if sensitive to decongestants)
Precautions:
Avoid in children under the prescribed age limit unless advised by a doctor. Use cautiously in people with high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid problems, or liver issues. Overdose may cause severe drowsiness, confusion, rapid heartbeat, or breathing problems. Always take the dose as prescribed and avoid alcohol while using this syrup.
