Description
Uses of Flumet 150 Tablet
Flumet 150 Tablet contains Fluconazole, an antifungal medicine used to treat and prevent fungal infections. It is commonly prescribed for vaginal candidiasis (yeast infection), oral thrush, cryptococcal meningitis, fungal skin infections, and systemic fungal infections. It works by inhibiting the growth of fungi, thereby stopping the spread of infection. In some cases, it is also used as a preventive treatment in patients with weakened immunity, such as those undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or organ transplantation.
Side Effects of Flumet 150 Tablet
When taken in recommended doses, side effects are usually mild and temporary. Common side effects include headache, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhoea, and dizziness. Some individuals may experience skin rash or changes in taste. Rare but serious side effects can include liver problems (jaundice, dark urine, persistent nausea), severe allergic reactions (swelling of face or throat, difficulty breathing), or abnormal heart rhythm. Long-term or high-dose use may increase the risk of liver toxicity, so monitoring may be required in such cases. If any severe or unusual symptoms occur, medical attention should be sought immediately.
