Description
Uses
Intagesic Gel is a topical painβrelief preparation containing diclofenac, methyl salicylate, menthol, and linseed oil. It is used to relieve muscle and joint pain caused by conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, sprains, strains, sports injuries, backache, and bursitis. Diclofenac helps reduce inflammation and pain by blocking certain chemical signals in the body. Methyl salicylate and menthol provide a cooling and warming sensation that improves blood flow and soothes discomfort, while linseed oil supports antiβinflammatory effects.
Side Effects
Most side effects are mild and occur at the application site. These may include slight burning, stinging, itching, redness, rash, dryness, peeling, or a temporary warm or cool sensation. Some people may experience mild swelling or irritation that goes away on its own. Rarely, allergic skin reactions such as hives, severe redness, blisters, or swelling can occur. In very rare cases, sensitive individuals may develop breathing difficulty or other systemic effects if they are allergic to NSAIDs.
Precautions
Avoid applying the gel to broken or infected skin, near eyes, or on mucous membranes. Do not cover with tight bandages unless advised. Wash hands after use. Stop and seek medical help if severe irritation or allergic symptoms appear. Not recommended during pregnancy without medical advice.
