Description

Itroderm OC Ointment is a topical medication commonly used to treat various skin infections and inflammatory conditions. It typically contains a combination of antifungal (Itraconazole) and corticosteroid (such as Clobetasol or another potent steroid) agents. The antifungal component helps to eliminate fungal infections like ringworm, athlete’s foot, or candidiasis, while the corticosteroid reduces redness, itching, and swelling associated with inflammation.

This ointment is usually applied in a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily, as directed by a doctor. It helps relieve symptoms such as burning, itching, scaling, and discomfort associated with fungal skin infections. The combination of antifungal and steroid makes it effective in more resistant or severe skin infections.

Common side effects may include skin irritation, burning, dryness, redness, or thinning of the skin at the application site. Prolonged use or overuse can lead to serious side effects such as skin discoloration, acne, stretch marks, or suppression of the skin’s natural steroid production. If used on the face or large body areas, the risk of side effects increases.
