Description
Micogel Ointment is an antifungal medication that contains Miconazole Nitrate. It is primarily used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm (tinea), athlete’s foot, jock itch, candidiasis, and seborrheic dermatitis. Micogel works by inhibiting the growth of fungi by interfering with their cell membrane formation, ultimately killing the fungi and clearing the infection.
Uses:
Ringworm (Tinea corporis)
Athleteβs foot (Tinea pedis)
Jock itch (Tinea cruris)
Skin yeast infections (Candidiasis)
Fungal infections in skin folds
Fungal diaper rash (under medical advice)
How to use: Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer of Micogel as directed by a healthcare providerβusually twice a day. Continue the treatment for the full prescribed duration, even if symptoms improve earlier.
Side Effects (usually mild and temporary):
Common: Skin irritation, redness, burning, itching, or stinging at the application site
Rare: Allergic reaction (rash, swelling, or severe itching)
Avoid applying Micogel to broken skin or near the eyes. If irritation worsens or an allergic reaction occurs, stop using the ointment and consult a doctor. It should only be used externally and as prescribed.
