Uses:
Montas FX is prescribed to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, watery eyes) and chronic urticaria (hives, itching). Montelukast works by blocking leukotrienes, chemicals responsible for allergic and inflammatory reactions, thus reducing swelling and mucus production. Fexofenadine is an antihistamine that blocks histamine receptors, preventing allergic symptoms like itching, redness, and watery eyes. The combination provides dual relief from both nasal and skin allergy symptoms. It is also used in some cases to manage seasonal allergies and mild asthma symptoms triggered by allergens.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, and dry mouth. Some individuals may experience fatigue or flu-like symptoms. Rarely, it can cause mood changes, agitation, unusual dreams, or palpitations. Serious but uncommon reactions include severe allergic reaction (rash, swelling of face/lips, difficulty breathing), liver function changes, or irregular heartbeat. Fexofenadine is generally non-sedating but may still cause mild drowsiness in some people. Montelukast has been associated with rare neuropsychiatric effects. Immediate medical attention is advised if severe reactions occur.

This medicine should be taken as prescribed by a doctor, preferably in the evening, and avoided in those with known hypersensitivity to its ingredients.
