Description

Montu L Tablet is a combination medicine that contains Montelukast (a leukotriene receptor antagonist) and Levocetirizine (an antihistamine). It is mainly prescribed for respiratory and allergic conditions where symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, congestion, and breathing difficulty occur together.

• Montelukast works by blocking leukotrienes, substances that cause airway inflammation, swelling, and tightening in asthma and allergies.

• Levocetirizine reduces histamine activity, thereby relieving allergy symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and watery eyes.

Uses:

• Treatment and prevention of allergic rhinitis (seasonal or perennial)

• Relief from sneezing, nasal congestion, and runny nose caused by dust, pollen, or other allergens

• Management of asthma as an add-on therapy to control wheezing and breathing difficulty

• Treatment of chronic urticaria (hives) with itching and rashes

• Useful in preventing nighttime allergy symptoms and improving sleep quality in allergic patients

Side Effects:
Montu L Tablet is generally well tolerated but may cause:

• Common: Headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, abdominal pain, fatigue

• Occasional: Nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, flu-like symptoms

• Rare but serious: Mood changes, agitation, severe allergic reaction, or liver function abnormalities

Precautions:
Take at the same time daily, preferably in the evening. Avoid alcohol and activities requiring alertness if drowsiness occurs. Use only under medical guidance, especially in patients with liver or kidney disease.
