Description

Mupicip Ointment 10gm contains Mupirocin, an antibiotic used topically to treat skin infections such as impetigo, folliculitis, and infected cuts or wounds. It works by stopping the growth of certain bacteria by inhibiting protein synthesis, making it highly effective against Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus species. It is typically applied to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day, as directed by a physician, and should not be used for prolonged periods or on large areas of broken skin unless prescribed.

Uses:

• Treatment of impetigo

• Infected minor wounds, cuts, or abrasions

• Infected eczema

• Folliculitis

• Nasal carriers of MRSA (when used intranasally in some formulations)

Side Effects:

• Mild burning, stinging, or itching at the site of application

• Skin dryness or redness

• Rash or swelling in sensitive individuals

• Allergic contact dermatitis (rare)

• Systemic absorption and antibiotic resistance (rare with prolonged use)
