Description

New Nemucet Syrup by Intas is a combination medication typically containing Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) and Phenylephrine, and sometimes Chlorpheniramine. It is used to relieve symptoms associated with cold, flu, and allergies, especially in children.

Uses:

• Reduces fever (antipyretic action of paracetamol)

• Relieves headache, sore throat, and body aches

• Eases nasal congestion (due to phenylephrine)

• Reduces sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes (if it includes chlorpheniramine)

• Used in upper respiratory tract infections and seasonal allergies

It helps make the child feel more comfortable during colds or flu-like symptoms, but it does not treat the root viral infection.

Side Effects:

Most children tolerate it well, but possible side effects include:

• Drowsiness or sleepiness (especially if chlorpheniramine is included)

• Nausea or vomiting

• Dry mouth or throat

• Mild dizziness

• Restlessness or irritability

• Rarely, allergic reactions like rash, itching, or swelling

Excessive dosing can lead to serious liver damage due to paracetamol. Always follow the pediatrician’s dosage instructions. Avoid combining it with other cold medications unless prescribed, to prevent accidental overdose.
