Description

Omosec 20 Capsule contains omeprazole 20 mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is commonly prescribed to treat conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and acid-related indigestion. Omosec 20 helps relieve symptoms like heartburn, acid reflux, and difficulty swallowing by promoting the healing of acid-damaged tissues in the stomach and esophagus.

This medication is typically taken once daily before meals for optimal effect. It works by blocking the acid-producing enzyme in the stomach lining, thereby lowering acidity and allowing healing of ulcers and inflammation.

Common side effects of Omosec 20 include headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea, and constipation. Most side effects are mild and temporary. However, long-term use may cause more serious effects such as vitamin B12 deficiency, magnesium imbalance, or an increased risk of bone fractures, especially in elderly patients.
