Description

PANTOSEC D (by Cipla) is a combination medicine containing Pantoprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a prokinetic agent). It is commonly used to treat acid reflux, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, and nausea or vomiting associated with excessive stomach acid.

Uses:

Pantoprazole reduces acid production in the stomach, helping relieve symptoms like burning sensation, indigestion, and sour belching. Domperidone works by enhancing stomach and bowel movement, helping to prevent nausea, bloating, and a feeling of fullness. Together, they are effective in treating reflux esophagitis, dyspepsia, and other acid-related digestive disorders.

Side Effects:

Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, dry mouth, stomach cramps, and dizziness. Some may experience constipation, flatulence, or fatigue. Rarely, prolonged use may lead to low magnesium levels, vitamin B12 deficiency, or bone thinning. Domperidone may rarely cause irregular heartbeat, especially in people with heart conditions or the elderly.
