PENTATE LS CAP

PANTOPRAZOLE AND LEVOSULPIRIDE

Description

Uses
Pentate LS is a combination medicine containing pantoprazole and levosulpiride. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid production, while levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent that improves gastrointestinal motility. This capsule is prescribed for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, erosive esophagitis, and acid reflux symptoms such as heartburn, regurgitation, and chest discomfort. It may also be used for indigestion, bloating, and NSAID-induced ulcers. By lowering acid levels and enhancing gastric emptying, it supports symptom relief and healing of acid-related damage in the digestive tract.

Side Effects
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, bloating, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, headache, dizziness, and dry mouth. Some patients may develop fever, rash, weakness, muscle or joint pain, or sleep disturbances. Long-term use can rarely cause electrolyte imbalance, especially low magnesium levels, and may increase fracture risk. Pantoprazole may occasionally lead to benign gastric polyps. Levosulpiride can cause tremors, involuntary muscle movements, restlessness, or mood changes in sensitive individuals. Allergic reactions like swelling, itching, and difficulty breathing require immediate medical attention. Use with caution in elderly patients or those with kidney, liver, or heart conditions. Always follow medical advice for dose and duration to minimize adverse effects.
