Rabesec 20 is a tablet manufactured by Cipla containing Rabeprazole 20 mg, which is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It is mainly used to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

Uses:

Rabesec 20 is commonly prescribed for the treatment of:

• Acid reflux (GERD): Helps relieve symptoms like heartburn, regurgitation, and chest discomfort.

• Peptic ulcers: Promotes healing of ulcers in the stomach or intestines.

• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Treats excessive acid production due to tumors.

• Erosive esophagitis: Heals acid-induced damage to the esophagus lining.

• Prevention of ulcers caused by NSAIDs in long-term painkiller users.

It is usually taken once daily, 30–60 minutes before a meal.

Side Effects:

Common side effects include:

• Headache

• Nausea or vomiting

• Abdominal pain

• Diarrhea or constipation

• Flatulence (gas)

Less commonly, long-term use may lead to:

• Vitamin B12 deficiency

• Low magnesium levels

• Bone fractures (with prolonged use)
