Description
Rabidoc-DSR Capsule is a combination medicine containing Rabeprazole (20 mg) and Domperidone (30 mg SR). It is primarily used to treat gastrointestinal disorders related to excess stomach acid and delayed gastric emptying.
Uses:
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces acid production in the stomach, helping in conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and ZollingerβEllison syndrome. Domperidone is a prokinetic agent that increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, helping in faster gastric emptying. Together, they are effective in treating acid reflux, heartburn, regurgitation, bloating, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting associated with acid-related disorders. This combination also helps in preventing damage to the food pipe caused by excessive acid.
Side Effects:
Most side effects are mild and temporary. Common ones include headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, and flatulence. Some people may experience nausea or skin rash. Rare but serious effects include irregular heartbeat, severe allergic reactions, and electrolyte imbalance. Long-term or high-dose use may increase the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fractures, or low magnesium levels.
It should be taken before meals as advised by a doctor, and avoided in patients with severe liver, kidney, or heart problems without medical supervision.
