Description
Rabidoc-LS Capsule is a combination medicine that contains Rabeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor), Levosulpiride (a prokinetic agent), and sometimes Sodium Bicarbonate (depending on brand variation). It is mainly prescribed for the management of acid-related stomach and esophageal conditions.
Rabeprazole works by reducing excess stomach acid production, thus providing relief from acidity and heartburn.
Levosulpiride enhances gastric motility, helping food move smoothly through the stomach and intestines, thereby reducing reflux and bloating.
Uses:
Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and acid reflux
Relief from heartburn, sour belching, bloating, and stomach discomfort caused by excess acid
Management of peptic ulcers and erosive esophagitis
Useful in functional dyspepsia (indigestion) associated with delayed stomach emptying
Helps in reducing nausea, vomiting, and fullness after meals due to slow gastric motility
Side Effects:
Rabidoc-LS is generally well tolerated but may cause:
Common: Headache, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness
Occasional: Stomach pain, flatulence, dry mouth, mild drowsiness
Rare but serious: Irregular heartbeat, severe allergic reaction, tremors, galactorrhea (milk discharge) due to levosulpiride, long-term vitamin B12 or magnesium deficiency with prolonged use
Precautions:
Take before meals as advised. Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine. Long-term use should be monitored by a doctor to prevent nutritional deficiencies and neurological effects.
