Description
Rednisol 4 Tablet contains Methylprednisolone 4 mg, a corticosteroid medicine used to reduce inflammation and suppress an overactive immune response. It is prescribed for a wide range of inflammatory, allergic, and autoimmune conditions. Methylprednisolone works by inhibiting the release of substances in the body that cause swelling, redness, and allergic reactions.
Uses:
Treatment of allergic conditions like severe asthma, skin allergies, and allergic rhinitis
Management of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis
Control of inflammation in conditions like ulcerative colitis, Crohnβs disease, and certain skin disorders
Relief from swelling and pain in joint or muscle injuries
Supportive treatment in certain severe infections or respiratory conditions (as prescribed)
Prevention of organ rejection after transplantation (in combination with other medicines)
Side Effects:
Rednisol 4 may cause:
Common: Increased appetite, weight gain, mood changes, stomach upset, trouble sleeping
Occasional: Fluid retention, acne, delayed wound healing, muscle weakness
Long-term/high-dose use: Osteoporosis, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, increased infection risk, Cushingoid appearance
Rare: Severe allergic reaction, vision changes, psychiatric disturbances
Precautions:
Should be taken exactly as prescribed. Avoid sudden discontinuation to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Long-term use requires regular monitoring of blood pressure, blood sugar, and bone health.
