Description

Telkonol 20 Tablet contains Telmisartan 20 mg, an antihypertensive medication that belongs to the class of Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs). It is primarily used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to protect the heart and kidneys in certain patients.

Uses:

• Management of hypertension: Helps lower high blood pressure to reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems.

• Cardiovascular protection: Used in patients with heart failure or at risk of heart disease to reduce strain on the heart.

• Kidney protection: Helps prevent or slow down kidney damage in patients with type 2 diabetes and proteinuria.

• Can be prescribed alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medicines for better blood pressure control.

Side Effects:
Telkonol 20 is generally well tolerated, but some patients may experience:

• Common: Dizziness, headache, fatigue, or mild nausea

• Occasional: Back pain, cold-like symptoms, diarrhea

• Rare but serious: Low blood pressure (hypotension), kidney function changes, increased potassium levels, swelling (angioedema), or severe allergic reactions

Precautions:

• Take the tablet as directed, usually once daily, with or without food.

• Regularly monitor blood pressure and kidney function.

• Avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium unless prescribed.

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical supervision.
