Telkonol AM Tablet is a combination medication primarily used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). It generally contains Telmisartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker – ARB) and Amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker). This combination works by relaxing blood vessels, improving blood flow, and reducing the strain on the heart, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.

Uses:

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)

• Prevention of complications like heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage caused by prolonged high blood pressure

• Management of hypertension in patients who require dual therapy for better control

• Improvement of blood circulation and reduction of cardiac workload

Side Effects:

• Common: Dizziness, headache, swelling of ankles or feet (edema), flushing, tiredness, and stomach discomfort

• Occasional: Low blood pressure (hypotension), palpitations, muscle cramps, or sleep disturbances

• Rare but serious: Allergic reactions, severe dizziness, irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, or liver function abnormalities

Precautions:

Take as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. Avoid sudden discontinuation. Patients with severe kidney, liver, or heart conditions should use under strict medical supervision. Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended.
