Description
Tobra Eye Drop contains tobramycin, an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the eye, such as conjunctivitis and blepharitis. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria, helping to reduce redness, swelling, and discomfort caused by the infection. It is commonly prescribed for external eye infections and can also be used after eye surgeries to prevent infection.
To use, apply the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye(s), usually every 4β6 hours, or as directed by your doctor. It’s important to wash hands before application and avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination.
Common side effects include mild eye irritation, temporary blurred vision, itching, or redness. These effects are usually short-lived. In rare cases, people may experience allergic reactions such as swelling, rash, or trouble breathing. Long-term or excessive use can lead to secondary fungal eye infections.
If you wear contact lenses, it’s advised to remove them before using the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.
