Uses:
Tonoderm Ointment is a combination medication used for treating various skin infections that involve fungi, bacteria, and inflammation. It typically contains ingredients like Clobetasol Propionate (steroid) to reduce redness, itching, and swelling; Ketoconazole and Tolnaftate (antifungals) to stop fungal growth; Clioquinol (antimicrobial) to fight infection-causing organisms; and Neomycin (antibiotic) to prevent or treat bacterial infections.

It is commonly prescribed for:

• Fungal infections like ringworm (tinea)

• Inflamed eczema or dermatitis

• Seborrheic dermatitis

• Skin conditions with mixed bacterial and fungal involvement

• Itchy, red, or inflamed lesions due to infection

The combination provides relief from irritation while helping clear the infection effectively.

Side Effects:
Most side effects are mild and localised, including:

• Burning or stinging at the site of application

• Itching, redness, dryness, or peeling of skin

• Temporary skin irritation or discomfort

Prolonged use, especially due to the strong steroid content, may cause:

• Skin thinning, stretch marks, or discoloration

• Increased hair growth at application site

• Rarely, systemic steroid effects if used over large areas or under occlusion
