Description

TRENACIT-MF Tablet is a combination medicine containing Tranexamic Acid and Mefenamic Acid.

Uses:
This medicine is primarily used for the treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia). Tranexamic Acid helps by preventing the breakdown of blood clots, thereby reducing excessive bleeding, while Mefenamic Acid, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), relieves menstrual pain and inflammation. It may also be prescribed for bleeding due to intrauterine devices (IUDs), after surgeries, or in conditions causing abnormal uterine bleeding. Additionally, Mefenamic Acid can provide relief from mild to moderate pain, such as muscle pain, toothache, and headache.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, indigestion, diarrhea, stomach pain, and headache. Some individuals may experience dizziness, fatigue, or back pain. Rare but serious side effects can include allergic reactions (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty), vision changes, or signs of blood clots such as chest pain and shortness of breath. Prolonged or high-dose use may increase the risk of kidney issues, liver function changes, or gastrointestinal bleeding.

This medicine should be taken strictly as prescribed, preferably after meals to minimize stomach irritation. It should be avoided in people with a history of blood clots, severe kidney disease, or NSAID allergy. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use it only under medical advice.
