Description

TRENACIT-500 Tablet contains Tranexamic Acid 500 mg, an antifibrinolytic medicine used to prevent or reduce excessive bleeding. It works by blocking the breakdown of blood clots, thus helping control bleeding in various conditions.

Uses:

• Treatment and prevention of heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia)

• Control of bleeding after dental procedures in patients with bleeding disorders

• Management of bleeding due to surgery, trauma, or injury

• Treatment of hereditary angioedema to reduce swelling episodes

• Prevention of recurrent nosebleeds (epistaxis)

• Control of bleeding in certain medical conditions like haemophilia (as supportive therapy)

Side Effects (generally mild and temporary):

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach discomfort

• Nervous system: Headache, dizziness, tiredness

• Skin: Mild rash or itching in rare cases

• Serious but rare: Blurred vision, changes in color vision, blood clots (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism), seizures (in very high doses or IV use)

It should be taken only as prescribed, with or after food, and avoided in patients with a history of blood clots, kidney problems, or certain vision disorders. Overuse or unsupervised intake may increase the risk of clot-related complications. Regular monitoring is advised in long-term use.
