Description
Ursolid 150 Tablet contains Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA) 150 mg, a bile acid that helps dissolve certain types of gallstones and improves liver function in specific liver and bile duct disorders. It works by reducing cholesterol production in the liver, breaking down cholesterol deposits in the gallbladder, and improving bile flow, which protects liver cells from damage.
Uses:
Dissolution of small, non-calcified cholesterol gallstones in patients unsuitable for surgery
Treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis and other chronic cholestatic liver diseases
Improvement of bile flow in certain liver disorders, including drug-induced or fatty liver damage (as prescribed)
Prevention of gallstone formation after rapid weight loss or bariatric surgery
Supportive therapy for certain hepatitis-related conditions (under medical advice)
Side Effects:
Ursolid 150 is generally well tolerated but may cause:
Common: Diarrhea, soft stools, nausea, mild stomach discomfort
Occasional: Indigestion, dizziness, back pain, skin rash, or itching
Rare: Worsening of liver function in certain advanced liver diseases, severe right upper abdominal pain
Precautions:
Should be taken under medical supervision with periodic liver function monitoring. Not recommended in patients with calcified gallstones, complete bile duct blockage, or severe liver failure. Avoid use during pregnancy unless prescribed by a doctor.
