Description
Ursolid 300 Tablet contains Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA) 300 mg, a bile acid used to improve liver and gallbladder health. It works by reducing the production of cholesterol in the liver, dissolving cholesterol-containing gallstones, and protecting liver cells from damage. It also improves bile flow, which helps in various liver and biliary disorders.
Uses:
Dissolution of small, non-calcified cholesterol gallstones in patients who cannot undergo surgery
Treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis and other chronic cholestatic liver diseases
Improvement of bile flow in certain liver disorders
Protection of liver cells from damage in hepatitis, fatty liver disease, or drug-induced liver injury (as prescribed)
Prevention of gallstone formation after rapid weight loss or bariatric surgery
Side Effects:
Ursolid 300 is generally well tolerated, but some may experience:
Common: Diarrhea, soft stools, stomach pain, nausea, indigestion
Occasional: Skin rash, itching, dizziness, back pain
Rare: Severe right upper abdominal pain, worsening of liver function tests in some liver diseases
Precautions:
Should be used under medical supervision with regular liver function monitoring. Not suitable for patients with calcified gallstones, blocked bile ducts, or severe liver failure. Avoid use during pregnancy unless clearly needed.
