Description
Venpres-40 AM Tablet is a combination medicine containing Telmisartan (40 mg) and Amlodipine (5 mg). It is prescribed for the management of high blood pressure (hypertension) to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking the action of certain hormones, thereby lowering blood pressure.
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that relaxes and widens blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing strain on the heart.
Uses:
Treatment of essential hypertension (primary high blood pressure)
Reducing cardiovascular risk in patients with high blood pressure and other risk factors
Long-term control of blood pressure to prevent heart, brain, and kidney damage
Side Effects:
Venpres-40 AM may cause:
Common: Swelling of ankles or feet, dizziness, headache, flushing, tiredness
Occasional: Stomach discomfort, palpitations, muscle cramps, mild skin rash
Rare but serious: Low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, allergic reactions, liver problems, severe swelling of face/lips (angioedema)
Precautions:
Take at the same time each day, with or without food. Avoid abrupt discontinuation. Use with caution in patients with liver, kidney, or heart disorders. Regular blood pressure monitoring is essential during treatment.
