Description

Zybend Tablet is an antiparasitic medicine commonly containing Albendazole as its active ingredient. It is used to treat various parasitic worm infections by killing the worms and stopping their growth, thereby improving health and preventing complications caused by these infections.

Uses

• Treatment of intestinal worm infections such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and threadworms

• Management of tapeworm infections and neurocysticercosis (tapeworm larvae infection in the brain)

• Treatment of hydatid disease (caused by tapeworm cysts in organs like liver, lungs, etc.)

• Used in mass deworming programs to prevent worm-related health issues, especially in children

• Helps reduce symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, weakness, and malnutrition caused by worm infestations

Side Effects

Zybend Tablet is generally well-tolerated but may cause some side effects, including:

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, dizziness

• Occasional: Increased liver enzymes, fatigue, fever, loss of appetite

• Rare but serious: Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling), severe liver problems, or low blood cell counts

Precautions

Take after food for better absorption. Long-term or high-dose use may require liver function monitoring. Not recommended during pregnancy unless advised by a doctor.
