Description
Amrox-LS Junior Syrup/Tablets is a combination medicine commonly prescribed for the relief of cough with mucus (productive cough) and respiratory tract congestion. It typically contains Ambroxol (a mucolytic), Levosalbutamol/Levalbuterol (a bronchodilator), and Guaifenesin (an expectorant). Together, these ingredients help loosen mucus, ease breathing, and provide relief from cough and chest tightness.
Ambroxol thins and breaks down thick mucus, making it easier to expel.
Levosalbutamol relaxes airway muscles and opens up the bronchial passages, reducing wheezing and breathlessness.
Guaifenesin increases mucus clearance by making it less sticky and easier to cough out.
Uses:
Relief from productive cough due to asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or respiratory tract infections
Reduces chest congestion and eases expectoration
Improves airflow and breathing in patients with bronchospasm and mucus-related cough
Provides symptomatic relief in cold and flu-related chest congestion
Side Effects:
Amrox-LS is generally well tolerated, but may cause:
Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset, mild headache, dry mouth
