Description
Uses of Azikem Suspension 100 mg
Azikem Suspension 100 mg contains Azithromycin, an antibiotic from the macrolide class. It is used to treat bacterial infections in children and adults. Common indications include infections of the respiratory tract (such as bronchitis, pneumonia), ear infections (otitis media), throat infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis), and skin or soft tissue infections. It is also prescribed for certain dental infections and some sexually transmitted infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Azikem works by stopping bacterial growth, helping the bodyβs immune system to clear the infection. It is usually given once daily for a short course, and should be taken as prescribed by the doctor to avoid antibiotic resistance.
Side Effects of Azikem Suspension 100 mg
Most side effects are mild and temporary. Common ones include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. Some children may experience headache, dizziness, or mild skin rashes. Rarely, serious reactions like severe allergic rash, swelling of face or throat, yellowing of eyes/skin (liver issues), irregular heartbeat, or severe diarrhea with blood/mucus may occur. If such symptoms appear, medical attention is needed immediately. Prolonged or unnecessary use can lead to decreased effectiveness and antibiotic resistance. Always follow the prescribed dose and complete the course even if symptoms improve.
