Cefkem 200 Tablet contains Cefixime as its active ingredient, which is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat various bacterial infections by stopping the growth of bacteria. Common conditions it is prescribed for include respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia), urinary tract infections, ear infections (otitis media), throat infections (tonsillitis, pharyngitis), sinusitis, and certain skin infections. It may also be used for typhoid fever and some sexually transmitted infections as advised by a doctor. This medicine works only against bacterial infections and will not be effective for viral illnesses like colds or flu.
