Description

CEPHADEX 250 Capsule by Cipla contains Cephalexin, an antibiotic belonging to the cephalosporin class. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections by stopping the growth of bacteria. It is not effective against viral infections like the common cold or flu.

Uses:

• Respiratory tract infections (like bronchitis, tonsillitis)

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Skin and soft tissue infections (boils, cellulitis)

• Ear infections (otitis media)

• Bone infections

• Dental infections

Doctors may also prescribe it post-surgery to prevent infection.

Side Effects:

While Cephadex is generally well tolerated, some people may experience:

• Diarrhea

• Nausea and vomiting

• Abdominal pain

• Rash or itching

• Headache

• Dizziness

In rare cases, it can cause:

• Severe allergic reactions (swelling, breathing difficulty, hives)

• Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea due to disruption of gut flora

• Liver enzyme changes
