Description

CEPHADEX 500 Capsule by Cipla contains Cephalexin, an antibiotic from the cephalosporin class. It is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections by stopping the growth of bacteria. It is not effective against viral infections like the common cold or flu.

Uses:

• Respiratory tract infections (like bronchitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis)

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Ear infections (otitis media)

• Bone infections

• Dental infections

It is often prescribed when a patient is allergic to penicillin or when bacteria are resistant to other antibiotics.

Side Effects:

Most people tolerate Cephadex 500 well, but some may experience:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Diarrhea

• Stomach pain

• Headache

• Dizziness

In rare cases, serious side effects may occur:

• Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, breathing difficulty)

• Severe diarrhea (possibly a sign of Clostridium difficile infection)

• Liver function changes
