Description

Cipla Clocip-B Ointment is a topical medication used for treating various fungal skin infections, especially those accompanied by inflammation, redness, or itching. It contains two active ingredients: Clotrimazole, an antifungal, and Beclomethasone, a corticosteroid.

Uses:
Clocip-B is commonly prescribed for skin conditions like ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, and candidiasis. Clotrimazole works by damaging the fungal cell membrane, thereby killing the fungi. Beclomethasone helps relieve symptoms like itching, redness, swelling, and irritation, making the skin feel more comfortable during healing. It is effective in areas where fungal infections cause inflammation.

Side Effects:
Most side effects are mild and temporary, especially when used as directed. Common side effects include burning, stinging, itching, or dryness at the application site. Prolonged or excessive use may cause skin thinning, stretch marks, discoloration, or increased hair growth in the treated area due to the steroid component. If used on broken skin or large areas, systemic side effects of steroids could occur, especially in children.

Precautions:
Avoid using on the face, eyes, or genital area unless prescribed. Do not cover with bandages unless instructed. Use for the prescribed duration only. Discontinue if irritation worsens and consult a doctor.
