Description
Uses:
Febutax 40 Tablet contains Febuxostat as its active ingredient. It is primarily used to treat gout, a condition caused by high uric acid levels in the blood. Febuxostat works by reducing the production of uric acid in the body, preventing uric acid crystal deposits in the joints, which cause pain, swelling, and stiffness. It is generally prescribed for patients who cannot tolerate allopurinol or when allopurinol is ineffective.
Side Effects:
While Febutax 40 is effective, it may cause some side effects in certain individuals. Common side effects include:
Headache
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
Joint pain or swelling (sometimes during initial treatment due to mobilization of uric acid)
Rash or skin irritation
Less common but serious side effects may include:
Liver function abnormalities (elevated liver enzymes)
Chest pain or heart-related issues in patients with existing heart disease
Severe allergic reactions (swelling, difficulty breathing)
