Uses of Flumet 400 Tablet
Flumet 400 Tablet generally contains Metronidazole, an antibiotic and antiprotozoal medicine. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial and protozoal infections, particularly those affecting the stomach, intestines, liver, vagina, skin, joints, and respiratory tract. Common conditions treated include amoebiasis, giardiasis, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, pelvic infections, dental infections, and certain postoperative infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria and protozoa, thereby clearing the infection.
Side Effects of Flumet 400 Tablet
When taken as directed, most side effects are mild and temporary. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, metallic taste in the mouth, loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, and diarrhoea. Some people may experience headache, dizziness, dry mouth, or dark-colored urine. Rarely, severe allergic reactions, numbness or tingling in hands or feet, seizures, or liver problems may occur. Taking alcohol during treatment can cause severe reactions like flushing, rapid heartbeat, nausea, and vomiting, so it should be avoided. If serious or persistent side effects occur, medical advice should be sought immediately.
