Description
Fourderm Ointment 10gm is a topical medication used to treat various fungal and bacterial skin infections. It is a combination of four active ingredients: Beclomethasone (a corticosteroid), Clotrimazole (an antifungal), Neomycin (an antibiotic), and Tolnaftate (an antifungal). Together, they help reduce inflammation, itching, redness, and control infection by killing or preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi.
Uses:
Fourderm is primarily prescribed for conditions such as ringworm, athleteβs foot, jock itch, eczema with infection, dermatitis, and infected cuts or wounds. It is applied directly to the affected area in a thin layer, usually twice daily, or as advised by a doctor.
Side Effects:
While generally safe when used correctly, some people may experience mild side effects like burning, stinging, redness, dryness, or irritation at the application site. Prolonged or excessive use may lead to skin thinning, stretch marks, or secondary infections. Neomycin may rarely cause allergic skin reactions. Avoid applying it to broken skin, eyes, or mucous membranes.
This ointment should be used only under medical supervision, especially in children or for long-term use. Always complete the full course even if symptoms improve early, and avoid using it on large areas of skin.
