Description

GLIMDA-MV 2 Tablet is an anti-diabetic medication used to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults. It is a combination of three drugs: Glimepiride (2 mg), Metformin (500 mg), and Voglibose (0.2 mg). These work together to control blood sugar levels.

• Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin.

• Metformin improves insulin sensitivity and decreases glucose production in the liver.

• Voglibose slows down the breakdown and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine, thus preventing a sudden rise in blood sugar after meals.

Uses:

• Controls high blood sugar in Type 2 diabetes

• Helps prevent complications like kidney damage, nerve issues, blindness, heart disease

• Usually prescribed when single-drug therapy is not sufficient

Common Side Effects:

• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)

• Stomach pain, bloating, gas

• Diarrhea or constipation

• Nausea or metallic taste

• Weight gain (due to Glimepiride)

Rare but Serious Side Effects:

• Lactic acidosis (due to Metformin, rare but serious)

• Liver dysfunction

• Severe hypoglycemia
